Enhancing Re-Entry and Retention of Girls Affected by Early Pregnancy in Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions

This project focuses on supporting girls affected by early pregnancy in the Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions of Tanzania. Despite the government’s supportive Re-Entry Policy, many young mothers encounter social stigma, insufficient school infrastructure, and limited access to health and psychosocial support, which impede their ability to return to school and complete their education.
Our approach includes community awareness campaigns, upgrading school facilities, training teachers on adolescent health and gender sensitivity, and providing counseling and mentorship services. These integrated efforts aim to create a nurturing environment that encourages young mothers to re-enter and remain in school, ultimately reducing dropout rates and fostering gender equality and inclusive education.
This initiative aligns with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality).
