GIRLS EDUCATION AND WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT

We believe in the saying that, educating a girl/a woman is educating the whole nation. In this view, we build capacity and advocate for quality education for all while put more emphasis on girls’ education in particular and women empowerment in general.

KEY ACTIVITIES

We advocate for the provision of quality education by influencing government policies and plans/programmes with a particular focus on financing of education sector through networking and partnerships with like – minded organizations and institutions.

We conduct action researches in order to uncover obstacles to the provision of quality education and share the findings with communities, government and other relevant stakeholders

We train school committees and the wider community on education policy and plans for them to increase understanding on national and international education plans/programmes in order to increase accountability in promoting quality education

We work with school communities to establish School Income Generating Activities (SIGA) as a means of filling the financing gap which is significant in public schools

We promote networking and partnerships with other organizations which we believe is very instrumental in influencing government policies and programmes for provision of quality education

We advocate for girls’ education in particular by advocating for the availability of services related to gender – needs in primary and secondary schools, lead campaigns against gender-based violence both in schools and in the families

In line with promoting girls’ education, we forge for the establishment of School Water Sanitation and Hygiene (SWASH) interventions in primary and secondary schools

We conduct outreach interventions which are geared at promoting life skills and economic empowerment for youths and women.
